Climb & freeride
High-alpine ascent
Climb approximately 750 m in three hours to reach the Alphubeljoch and the start of the long descent.
Variable snow
Strong off-piste technique is essential because conditions can range from deep powder to wind crust and heavy snow.
2000 m descent
Enjoy approximately two hours of varied freeride terrain all the way down to Saas-Fee.
Levels
Fitness
Good fitness is required for the 750 m ascent, which takes approximately three hours and is followed by a 2000 m descent.
Technik
Previous touring experience is recommended. You must be confident skiing or snowboarding in deep snow, wind crust, heavy snow, and other challenging off-piste conditions.
All our ski tours are open to splitboarders. However, a higher technical level is required on a splitboard because transitions, traverses and flat sections are generally more demanding than on touring skis.

Route
Alphubeljoch 3772 m
After an ascent of approximately 750 m, the route reaches the Alphubeljoch before beginning the long freeride descent to Saas-Fee.
Depending on current snow and avalanche conditions, your mountain guide may adapt the exact route.

Equipment
Touring skis or a splitboard, skins, a climbing harness, and an avalanche rescue kit are required. Technical equipment can be rented from Saas-Fee Guides, subject to availability.
