True alpinism
Steep ascent
Climb 1150 m in approximately 4.5 hours, including a steep couloir where secure kick turns and efficient use of ski crampons are essential.
Roped glacier travel
Navigate safely through crevassed high-alpine terrain while roped to your certified mountain guide.
2300 m descent
Enjoy an incredible fall-line descent from the summit all the way back to Saas-Fee.
Levels
Fitness
Very good fitness and proper acclimatization are required for the 1150 m ascent, which takes approximately 4.5 hours and is followed by a very long descent.
Technik
Previous ski touring or splitboard touring experience is required. You must be confident making kick turns in steep terrain and skiing or snowboarding off-piste in variable snow conditions.
All our ski tours are open to splitboarders. However, a higher technical level is required on a splitboard because transitions, traverses and flat sections are generally more demanding than on touring skis.

Route
Alphubel 4206 m
The route climbs 1150 m through crevassed glacier terrain and a steep couloir to the Alphubel summit before descending all the way to Saas-Fee.
Depending on current snow and avalanche conditions, your mountain guide may adapt the exact route.

Equipment
Touring equipment, a climbing harness, boot crampons, and an avalanche rescue kit are required. Technical equipment can be rented from Saas-Fee Guides, subject to availability.
